Replace a China visa after losing your passport
The official documentation path when a passport or its Chinese visa is lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed in China.
A lost passport can also mean needing a visa reissuance before onward travel. The NIA specifies the evidence to bring after you obtain a new valid passport or international travel document.
A clear next step
- Report the loss and obtain the required loss-report confirmation, or obtain an official note from your embassy or consulate in China.
- Obtain a new valid passport or other international travel document from the appropriate authority.
- Submit the loss evidence and new document to a public-security exit-entry department to apply for visa reissuance.
