Getting RMB cash: exchange points and compatible ATMs
Look for official exchange signage and match your card to the ATM’s displayed network.
The Ministry of Commerce’s English guide says visitors can exchange foreign currency for RMB at commercial banks, money changers and self-service exchange machines at entry ports and elsewhere displaying an Exchange logo. It also says RMB cash can be withdrawn using international bank cards at ATMs. Availability and card compatibility are live conditions.
