Beijing landmark
Temple of Earth Park (Ditan Park)
A historic imperial altar park built for Ming and Qing emperors' rites to the Earth deity.
Use 地坛公园 as the destination and Andingmen Outer Street as the location cue. Beijing’s Parks and Forestry Bureau identifies Ditan, also called Fangze Altar, on Andingmen Outer Street in Dongcheng District. It says the site was built in 1530 for Ming and Qing imperial rites to the Earth deity and names Fangze Altar, the Imperial Deity Hall, the Sacrificial Pavilion, the Palace of Abstinence and the Divine Storehouse among its historic buildings. Beijing’s municipal subway guide pairs Ditan Park with Andingmen Station. Check live park access and visitor arrangements before setting out.
