The Palace Museum's public route runs one-way, south to north.

午门 (Meridian Gate) is the only visitor entrance; 神武门 (Gate of Divine Prowess) and 东华门 (East Prosperity Gate) are exits. For the entrance, the official guide lists Tiananmen East or Tiananmen West on Metro Line 1. Non-mainland visitors may reserve with a passport and must carry the original valid document used for reservation. Reserve through the official Palace Museum mini-program or ticket service; check live availability and rules.
